CEU Course Description 

The role of a BCBA as a service provider in a school district and as part of the IEP team can be challenging to navigate.  BCBAs need to be able to navigate a variety of assessments, collaborate in a successful and meaningful way with other professionals and understand their role and how to make their contribution as effective as possible. In this course, participants will (1) learn the IEP steps of an FBA, assessments utilized and goal development, (2) types of collaboration with other professionals as well as the risks and benefits, (3) ethical guidelines to maintain and follow and (4) develop conflict management techniques and skills to utilize.  

CEU Course Objectives 

  1. Identify key functions of a BCBA as part of the IEP process; includes assessments utilized, FBA process, goal development (measurable targets) and their role on an IEP team
  2. Develop an understanding of ethics related to the IEP and the BACB
  3. Recognize conflict management techniques related to resolution process
  4. Develop a more thorough understanding of successful collaboration with other professionals
