CEU Course Description

Behavior analysts often find themselves faced with situations that require the need for ethical decision-making skills when working directly with or when supervising others that work directly with individuals with disabilities.  Ethical codes can be misapplied in various situations and it is important to both analyze and review various factors associated with ethical decision-making skills.  Systems for teaching and maintaining ethical behavior can be developed to help guide the analysis of ethical dilemmas and misapplication of ethical codes within one’s own practice and help professionals to collaborate with others in and outside of their discipline.  In this course, participants will learn (1) to identify factors that can affect ethical decision-making within one’s own practice, (2) to identify aspects of a system that allows for a behavior analyst to teach and maintain ethical behavior, and (3) to identify various ethical considerations when working with individuals with disabilities.
